About Databery
What is Databery?
Databery is a market research and intelligence firm based in Bengaluru, India. It runs primary research, direct interviews and verified sourcing, to help companies understand their markets, competitors, and customers, and make decisions based on evidence rather than guesswork.
Where is Databery based?
Databery is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, and works with clients internationally. You can reach the team at [email protected].
What makes Databery different from other research firms?
Databery works from primary sources rather than recycled reports. Every material finding is verified against at least two independent sources, or clearly labelled as unverified. Deliverables lead with what to do, with the full evidence trail underneath, so clients can trace every conclusion.
Research services
What does Databery do?
Databery answers specific business questions through primary research. Its four main areas are market mapping and sizing, competitive intelligence, win-loss and buyer research, and ongoing signal monitoring. Each engagement starts from a decision the client needs to make.
What kinds of questions can Databery answer?
Databery answers questions such as: is this market worth entering and where is the opening; what is a competitor preparing to do; why are we winning or losing deals; and what changed this quarter that should change our plan. Engagements are scoped around the client’s specific decision.
How long does a Databery research project take?
Most projects run from a few weeks to a few months, depending on scope. The median time from kickoff to the first verified finding is around 11 days. Timelines are agreed at the start of each engagement.
How does Databery make sure its findings are accurate?
Databery uses a two-source verification standard: every material claim is cross-checked against at least two independent sources, or it is labelled as unverified. Findings come from primary sources first, and where the honest answer is a range, the range and the reasoning are shown.
Will my information stay confidential?
Yes. Databery treats client information as confidential and keeps the identity of its clients confidential unless agreed otherwise in writing. Confidentiality terms are set out in each engagement agreement.
How do I start a project with Databery?
Book a call through the contact page or email [email protected]. The first call is a 30-minute conversation with a partner to understand your decision; if there is a fit, Databery follows up with a scoped, fixed-fee proposal.
The Databery Fellowship
What is the Databery Fellowship?
The Databery Fellowship is an eight-week, project-based, remote programme that teaches research the way it is actually practised. Fellows work on real briefs, receive weekly feedback from practising researchers, and finish with a portfolio-ready case study. See the fellowship page for tracks and how to apply.
Is the Databery Fellowship free?
Yes. The Databery Fellowship is free. There is no fee to apply or to take part.
Is the Databery Fellowship paid?
No. The fellowship is an educational programme, not a job, so there is no salary or stipend. It is unpaid on both sides: no fee to join, and no payment to participants.
Is the fellowship remote?
Yes, the fellowship is fully remote and flexible. It is self-paced within weekly deadlines, so fellows can work through the material and feedback on their own schedule.
How long is the Databery Fellowship?
The fellowship lasts eight weeks. Most fellows spend a few focused hours each week on structured learning, weekly deliverables, and a final independent project.
Who can apply to the Databery Fellowship?
The fellowship is open to students, recent graduates, and people moving into research, strategy, or sales careers. There are no prerequisites beyond commitment. Places are limited and selective, and applicants under 18 need a parent or guardian’s consent.
What do fellows receive at the end?
On completion, fellows receive a fellowship certificate and a portfolio-ready case study. Strong performers may also receive a letter of recommendation, public recognition, and access to the alumni network, at Databery’s discretion.
How do I apply to the Databery Fellowship?
Apply through the form on the fellowship page, choosing a track and telling us briefly why you want to take part, or email [email protected] with a short introduction and CV. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and Databery replies to every applicant.
Free internships & experience
Is the Databery Fellowship an internship?
In practice, yes. The Databery Fellowship works like a free, remote research internship: you do real project work, get weekly feedback from practising professionals, and finish with a certificate and a portfolio-ready case study. We call it a fellowship because the work is genuine and assessed, not observational.
What is a good free internship to gain real experience?
A good free internship gives you real work rather than busywork, direct feedback from someone experienced, something concrete to show afterwards such as a portfolio piece, and ideally a certificate or recommendation. The Databery Fellowship is a free, remote programme built around exactly these: real research briefs, weekly mentor feedback, a certificate, and a case study you can show in interviews.
Are there free remote internships for students that give a certificate?
Yes. The Databery Fellowship is a free, fully remote, 8-week programme open to students and recent graduates that awards a fellowship certificate on completion, along with a portfolio-ready case study. There is no fee to apply or take part.
Can I get a certificate and recommendation letter from the fellowship?
Every fellow who completes the programme receives a Databery Fellowship certificate. Strong performers also receive a letter of recommendation and public recognition, at Databery’s discretion.
